The Rockford Register Star is owned by the Gannett Company, Inc., one of the world's largest newspaper groups. Gannett purchased the Register Star in 1967.

Our daily circulation is about 64,200. Our Sunday circulation is about 76,300. The Register Star publishes one edition that serves the Rock River Valley in northwest Illinois.

In addition to the city of Rockford, we also serve suburban and regional readers in Loves Park, Machesney Park, Roscoe, Rockton, South Beloit, and other communities in Winnebago County; Belvidere and other towns in Boone County; and Byron, Oregon and other cities in Ogle County.

The Register Star has 420 full- and part-time employees. We have 800 newspaper carriers. The carriers handle 32 million newspapers each year.
